“汤加火山已经苏醒”

据报道，洪阿哈阿帕伊岛（Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai）火山是高度活跃的汤加-克马德克群岛火山弧的一部分，位于汤加首都努库阿洛法以北65公里，海拔约100米。但隐藏在海平面之下的是一座高约1800米，宽20公里的巨型海底火山。

"All these signs suggest the large Hunga caldera has awoken.Tsunami are generated by coupled atmospheric and ocean shock waves during an explosions, but they are also readily caused by submarine landslides and caldera collapses.

"It remains unclear if this is the climax of the eruption."

他解释道，研究人员在古老岛屿上的沉积物中发现了火山口过去两次大规模喷发的证据。

"We matched these chemically to volcanic ash deposits on the largest inhabited island of Tongatapu, 65km away, and then used radiocarbon dates to show that big caldera eruptions occur about ever 1000 years, with the last one at AD1100."

将影响拉尼娜发展

利用2022年1月15日的风云四号B星数据制作的1000米分辨率的多通道真彩色合成图监测显示，洪阿哈阿帕伊岛火山喷发瞬间喷出的火山灰云突破对流层顶，形成了直径近500km的伞形云团，伞形云团周边的巨大冲击波清晰可见。
