To enhance elderly's awareness of telecommunication fraud crimes, volunteers of Qingdao "BlueVest" and Qingdao Public Security Bureau in Shandong province held a special anti-fraud lecture at an elderly service center on Sept 10.

To make the lectures more interesting, volunteers staged a quiz show on fraud-related issues and those who came up with the correct answers were given a bonus — "anti-fraud steamed buns" weighing 1.5 kilograms each — which had catchy anti-fraud slogans printed on them using edible coloring.

According to the local police, elderly people are key targets of telecommunications fraud. By gaining basic knowledge on anti-fraud practices, they can better identify the conspiracies against them and avoid being scammed.
