台风“烟花”离开上海的第二天，中国日报外籍记者Kara来到了浦东新区。

她惊讶地发现，许久不见的上海多了些新角色：随着许多新兴创业公司相继落户，上海正在悄悄“转型”成创业者的天堂。

随着经济规模不断扩大，浦东正在成为中国科技创新的“发电站”。

With an expanding economy, Pudong is building into a powerhouse of national technology and innovation!

2021年7月15日，中共中央和国务院发布了《中共中央 国务院关于支持浦东新区高水平改革开放打造社会主义现代化建设引领区的意见》，赋予浦东新区改革开放新的重大任务。

再出发，浦东担起了为社会主义现代化建设“打样”的新使命。

“中国芯”、“创新药”、“蓝天梦”、“未来车”、“数据港”、“智能造”，这六大“硬核”产业将成为浦东新区制造业高质量发展的“推动器”。

Kara有机会深入到一些重点行业采访，了解他们如何在浦东新的历史定位中找到自己的角色。

“直到2004年，这里还是泥巴地，连一条路都没有”，采访团里的上海人向我们介绍张江科学城的发展情况。

我们不是简单地通过市场去换国外的技术，现在技术创新的第一站往往就在中国。

It is not a simple exchange of foreign technology through market. Now the first stop of technological innovation is often in China.

On July 29, the local government (of Pudong) released its Group Open Innovation plan, or GOI, which encourages industry leaders to set up open innovation platforms in Pudong. Major pharmaceutical company Roche was among the first 20 companies to join the GOI plan.

毫无疑问，相关政策会出台，加速促进药物研发。我认为整体而言，整个生态圈将极大地受益于《意见》所延伸出的政策。

Undoubtedly, there will be policies to accelerate the drug discovery and development. I think as a whole, the ecosystem will hugely benefit from the extended policies as a result of that recommendation.

浦东新区的政策毫无疑问会帮助（国际顶尖）人才找到机会，为自己和他的家人找到机会等等。

The Pudong policy will undoubtedly help those talents to find opportunities, to find options for themselves and their family and so on.

我认为上海，特别是中国的奇妙之处在于，它从不会停下脚步。因此，这一切都与创新有关，不断地再创造，这使中国能够以令人难以置信的速度发展。

I think the wonderful thing about Shanghai and about China particular is it never stops. So it's all about innovation, constant reinvention, and that allows China to go in an incredible speed and incredible rate.

Shanghai's Pudong New Area is at a higher level of reform and opening-up. With new innovations in technology, artificial intelligence, financials, pharmaceuticals… you name it.

Hmmm… Maybe I should consider relocating…
